OEC owns two types of core samplers, i.e. piston corers and gravity corers.
Both types of OEC’s core samplers can collect columnar sediment with limited sample disturbance up to 3m below the seafloor. Depending on seabed composition and the survey vessel’s capabilities, OEC is able to select the most appropriate core sampler, and collect the longest possible sediment samples, all the while minimizing sample disturbance to the degree possible.
OEC has a wealth of core sampling experience, even in waters up to 5,000m deep.
